I (22 M) have always wondered how you guys get to be fwb. How did it start? Did you two talk about it up front or are you just riding the wave?

  1. Only fwb I had was with a ex partner, we didnt break up in a bad way and the sex was always great but we just didnt click well enough for a relationship, we decided to stay fuckbuddies until one of us found a new partner.

  3. one night stand -> realize you enjoy each others company -> also realize you guys would make a terrible couple -> fwbs!

  4. I mean, fwbs is code for “we enjoy sex with each other and maybe even respect/like each other but don’t feel there’s relationship potential. Taking an actual friend and turning it into a fwb situation is probably a little harder than taking someone you’ve already had sex with (or sex seems imminent) and making it casual (which is usually how people approach dating at first anyway).
