Today was a perfect day

A few weeks ago I randomly told my husband that I wanted a beach day. The comment was made in passing, as I knew we were too busy to make it happen. We were super busy planning my stepdaughter’s (SD) quinceanera party and did not have time for a beach day. When I mentioned the beach day he did what he normally does and promised that I would get it. Today he made it happen.

He made sure we got picnic supplies from the grocery store. He loaded up the car with everything we needed. He got SD and I excited about the awesome day. He planned everything out.

We swam in the ocean, played in the sand, laughed so much, and made great memories. It was everything I wanted and so much more. I just wish that I had taken pictures of our amazing day.

I married my best friend and got blessed with an amazing SD. Our life is not perfect. Being full time parents can be tough. Dealing with my mom and siblings has been difficult for me in the last few years. Yet we face everything as a team. Today was not out of the ordinary. We have amazing adventures every week. I am grateful nonetheless. The past 10 years have flown by, every day with him is a gift.

I could go on and on about everything he does and about everything I am grateful for but I chose to focus on the perfect beach day he made happen.
