This is actually a good question. See back in the day if I tried chatting up a girl and she said add me on Facebook, ig etc I would’ve definitely took that as rejection
It can be seen in two ways I’ve found. IG can be seen as a rejection because it’s not ‘personal’, but at the same time, IG usually consists of the persons everyday life and more pictures so it can go both ways. Depends on the person, if your unsure, just go with it, text them on IG, if they don’t want anything more serious than just an IG follower leave them
