Im not a drinker, and it feels like everyone knows im sober and see me as a weirdo for being completely sober on a dancefloor or pub etc. It feels like i cant speak freely without overthinking what im going to say and i feel like the fact that im sober makes me seem really uncomfortable and awkward. It seems as if the drunk state helps with talking randomly to strangers. How do i overcome this hurdle in my social life?

  1. 👀 dump whoever is in that “everyone”. Just because you don’t want to look like a wreck in a crowd and not have an awful hungover the next day doesn’t make you boring or lame.

Of course, you can just put up a fake persona who “drinks and has fun” but at the end of the day, you’re gonna feel burdened by it. You don’t have to be a drinker to have fun at parties or clubs.

So the hustle is your mind honestly. It’s all about you. Even everyone’s views on your soberness comes from your mind, maybe you’re overthinking or maybe you’re right. ( can’t know from the given info)

Based on your words, you seem to be uh hmm insecure or you seem to feel like you don’t fit in, no offense really.

So unless you want to change your mentality, the only thing I can think of is either force yourself to drink or don’t go to drinking places.
