What song breaks your heart every time you hear it?

  1. So I’m back to the velvet….underground…..

    Back to the floor….that I love….

To a room with some lace and paper flowers….

    Back to the gypsy

  2. It’s been awhile – Staind

The memories this bitch drags to the surface…

  3. If You Could Read My Mind — Gordon Lightfoot

The song is a masterpiece, though.

  4. The Kelly Clarkson version of the Hamilton song “It’s Quiet Uptown.”

  5. I’m a woman, just had to comment-Redemption Song by Bob Marley ❤️💛💚

  6. Joji – slow dancing in the dark hits me hard every time I listen to it, but it’s such a good song that I can’t stop listening to.

  7. Ozzy Osbourne – Tonight

Ozzy Osbourne – See You On the Other Side

    Black Label Society – Rust

Black Label Society – Bridge to Cross

  8. Sissy’s Song by Alan Jackson

Whiskey Lullaby by Alison Krauss and Brad Paisley

I Was Drunk by Margot And The Nuclear So And So’s

Make Me Feel by Amanda Perez

  9. Hurt, both versions.

Nine Inch Nails has a lot of heartbreaking songs tho. Closer, Everyday is exactly the same, Something I can Never Have, and so on.

    Disturbed – Inside the Fire

Pink Floyd – Wearing the Inside Out, What do you Want from Me, Comfortably Numb.

    Karnivool – Deadman

Riverside – Left Out, Parasomnia, Panic Room

    Leprous – Sky is Red

    Pineapple Thief – Part Zero

  10. Safety Dance and Levels. My estranged daughters’ favorite songs. Mother poisoned them against me, I’ll never see them again.

  11. Take a chance on me

It’s such a happy melody about a girl who is head over heels about a guy who isn’t really interested in her. But she stays hanging around, hoping that he’ll take a chance on her.

    If you change your mind

    I’m the first in line

    Honey, I’m still free

  12. Over the rainbow, but, by that Hawaiian guy. I can’t even be in the same room when it’s on. They played it at my sister-in-law‘s wedding a few years ago and I had to excuse myself. It’s too heartbreaking for me

  13. The night we met- lord huron

”i had all and then most of you some and now none of you” gets me every damn time

  14. Avicii. Waiting For Love. The video. When the bikies move the log off the road.

Another one is City Of New Orleans (a train they call) by Willie Nelson:

‘Mothers with their babies sleep, rocking to the gentle beat, and the rhythm of the rails is all they feel’.

    Oh, my heart ♥

  15. Evanescence – My Immortal

Recently saw them live at a festival. The concert as a while was meh, but when she sat down at that concert piano and started singing, I started crying and didn’t stop until after the song was over.

  16. Snuff – Slipknot.

Who Wants to Live Forever – Queen.

    Outside and It’s Been A While – Stain’d

Lost Without You – Freya Ridings. Definitely struck a chord recently, this track.

  17. Ed Sheeran – Visiting Hours.

Makes me think of the people and animals I have lost over the years. Usually it makes me think of my grandfather.

Realising he’ll never meet whoever I’ll end up with, my possible future kids… Hell, even the fact that he passed a year ago while my proclamation for my Master will be in 3 months… he barely missed it.

I’m an atheist, yet I’d wish heaven did exist such that I could eventually go up to him and tell him about everything.

And I will be telling my future partner about him. And if I get kids, they will see funny videos of him.

Damn. Writing this makes me close to tearing up.

  18. Can I answer?

    Someone Like You – Adele

Heard it for the first time on the day my husband was diagnosed with cancer. Still can’t hear it.
