Was this rude of me?

My friend asked me to come out to a family event she was going to, and after I accepted the invite I asked her if she wanted to also go somewhere the week before. She never replied to the text from me asking, and I felt tired on the day of the family event (today) and didn’t bother to double text/turn up, and likewise my friend didn’t message me to check if I was coming. Is it really rude to accept an invite to something then not go? Not sure how to go about things now
