Okay, so for the last 2 weeks I (34M) have been actively seeking a date, in whatever form on 8 different websites/apps (tinder, okcupid, bumble to name a few).

In 2 weeks I have gotten 21 matches which sounds pretty good until you realise that:
• 8 of them tried to get me to join other apps/websites (after research, they get paid commission for people joining up)
• 10 of them just point blank didn’t respond to my message
• 1 ghosted me after 3 days of chatting
• 2 matched/unmatched straight away

I honestly get the ones who try to get you to join other sites, it’s tough out there and everyone got to eat but what pisses me off is the people who match and then just ignore you. You liked me enough to like me but not to talk to me?? Also why is it that I always feel that I am the one who has to make the firat move. If they match me, they should message first and vice versa but it’s always me making the first move.

Sorry for the rant but I’m just really pissed off.

  1. I think for most men online dating is okay as a fun, little thing to look at for a few minutes a week. However, I don’t think that men should use online dating as their main way of looking for dates.

We each only have so many shits to give in a day. Funnel your shits to give into more exciting, more fruitful ways of meeting women, such as going to in-person events around your town and volunteering to help with all sorts of groups. 😁

For me I like to keep online dating active as a way to build my tolerance to rejection and failure. hahah It has been an extremely useful skillset to build up, allowing me to be less afraid of rejection and failure in my professional career and business I started.

  2. I don’t understand why people get so frustrated with online dating! I look at as fun and not necessarily an alternative to meeting someone IRL. If you meet someone great but getting upset about certain matches, being ghosted, or stressing about what to include in your bio. This is coming from a woman 44 years of age so take it with a grain of salt
