Caught up with an old friend via text and had a great chat. However, somewhere in the chat he threw in that he’s jealous that Im in the USA and he isn’t and that I have less responsibility now because Im out of the military. I take it he didn’t mean it in a bad way but my OCD does not understand this and my anxiety is flaring up. How would you take it if you were in my situation and someone said this to you? How should I take it? Is this a common thing that friends playfully tell each other?

If it was in a joking way just say “how can you hate from outside of the club. You can’t even get in” then proceed to do a pimp laugh
