Why there are no darts in women tshirts? Is there no demand for good fit?

  1. Like all the other answers so far…Darts?

So far do we all not know this because men have kept it a dark secret of the patriarchy?

Do you only know what this is and ask the question because you yourself are a man, holding this dark secret above us like some sort of joke?

    I dunno… seriously though what’s darts?

Edit to add this link because I got interested – https://taperedmenswear.com/blogs/tapered-blog/darting-a-shirt

  2. Darts are two seams sewn into the back of a shirt. One day people in comments sections will google things for themselves.

I don’t think they’re super necessary in t-shirts. They usually fit fine without them because of the material. It makes more sense for dress shirts where you want that perfectly fitted look because otherwise they look sloppy.

  3. Because a tshirt is a casual, usually slightly loose fit garment made from fabric with stretch. It doesn’t need to be fitted. There is usually positive ease, which means darts aren’t required. When the ease is negative, the stretch fabric does its job and contours to the body.

That’s like asking why bikinis don’t come with a functional zip. There’s no need.

  4. Men’s clothes tend to be better made and are sold by size chest, neck etc

Women’s clothes have more variety but are usually less well made and don’t last as long. We struggle to fit clothes well because they are sold using arbitrary sizes which change on the whim of the shop.

That being said if a t shirt was darted for women to be a fitted T the darts would be under the bust

  5. I have the same issue and I will take my t-shirts in a tiny bit around the waist for they fit closer.

  6. ive seen some t-shirts with darts at the boob area, but those are usually of a nicer and stiffer fabric meant for office wear and often catering to a more mature audience. i think most people would consider those to be blouses even tho they otherwise come in the standard t-shirt shape. most tees on the market are made from stretch and loose material and adding darts to that would not only get shifted and out of place after a while of wear but also weaken the integrity of the shirt and make it break more easily. if you want a bodyhugging and flattering fit in a t-shirt they do sell thighter options almost anywhere.
