How hard was it for you to change professions?

  1. I switched from working dead end call centre jobs to Software Engineering. Hardest part was deciding that’s what I wanted to do then it was just a case of applying for a degree course and doing it for 4 years. Getting a job was fairly easy especially since I’d had more interview and work experience than most other graduates

  2. I was working in the car industry since high school. When covid hit I was laid off and decided to persue my passion for 3D modeling. While I was working I was spending my nights learning 3D programs and after 6 years of moonlighting personal projects and working full time I found out one of my friends worked for a studio and got in as a junior artist. It was tough to change and the only reason I ended up in the industry is thanks to covid or I probably never would have been able to switch. Thankfully enough the transition was smooth but it can take people years to end up at a studio. So the advice I’d have for you is to learn as much as you can before making the switch to hit the ground running if you can.

  3. Not hard at all. I went from working in construction to getting my CDL and driving for a living. My job is easier and I get paid more. I wish I would have done it sooner

  4. Easy. Came out the army, got an office job, nearly webt mad from boredom, resigned and joined the Coastguard.

    Whole process took six months.
