I’ve (25M) been talking to this woman (also 25) for a little over a month—we do have 7+ years of history though. We had a virtual dinner and have talked on the phone when she wasn’t busy. After the first virtual dinner, we setup another dinner where we would make a dessert afterwards. She canceled that same night due to family coming over. I thought, “ok, well it seems fair enough, so I’ll try one more time.” During the following week, I asked about doing another virtual dinner, but it fell through again. The day after that I sent her a message saying something along the lines of (deleted the messages), “ I know you’re busy and I want to allow you to focus on that. I’m always here for you, so reach out whenever.” She responds immediately saying how thankful she is for me being understanding and we don’t text for the rest of the day. I don’t really bother texting much the next day and didn’t hear from her in the morning, so I figured she’s on her way out of my life. All of a sudden she sends a pic saying hello and asking how I’m doing. Immediately, I’m shocked and happy. We text a lot days after, but I’m so confused lol. Ultimately, we parted ways, but what is this about? I haven’t really pursued anyone as an adult, so this is all new. What is going on with that?

Why are you having virtual dates and not real life ones? And the reason it fizzled out is probably mostly because you weren’t meeting in person and LDR are difficult and most people find them to be pointless. She likely moved on to another guy that she met in person.
