I’ve had incredibly strong feelings for an old co-worker for a few months now. I recently left the job and moved far away, but can’t get them off my mind. I have hyperreal, vivid dreams about us almost every night and it’s becoming tortuous.

We definitely had a great friendship, could easily joke around and share with each other. He remembered my birthday, helped me with my work projects and (even though he was away on vacation) joined the team goodbye call when I left. However, he explained and downplayed almost everything he did. For example, he gave me his password to watch a documentary he thought I’d like and felt the need to joke that he’d been “giving it out to too many people”. When he came to my leaving drinks, he left pretty early and didn’t reach out again before I left town.

We’ve caught up on email a couple of times since. Was it totally platonic or should say something?
