My favourite show as a kid was a show called Tugs which was about tug boats with similar faces to the characters from Thomas the tank engine, probably same production company or something.
Absolutely no one I’ve ever met remembers it existed, even if I show them photos.

  1. Probably because much like the lovely Bertha it only got 13 episodes to make its mark.

  2. I’m sure some people remember it, but Old Bear – I loved it, still think it’s such a beautiful little show. But it’s not endured like Thomas the Tank Engine/Fireman Sam/Postman Pat despite being of same era. Had them all on VHS and Old Bear got played just as much the others!

  3. I remember Tugs, because I worked on it. Yes, it was the same company that made Thomas but it didn’t have any literary pedigree, some episodes they just made up on the spot, without any script, that’s probably why no one remembers it.

  4. Animals of farthing wood.

    Wizadora.

Does anyone remember Through the Dragon’s Eye? Would probably have watched it in school.

  5. Anyone remember Woof! The boy who turns into a dog, I remember loving that. And Trap Door too!

  6. This thread makes me wonder why no-one has launched a classic kids TV channel. Let us all relive our childhoods! Plus I’m sure current kids will have their favourites too

  7. Knightmare, closely followed by The Trap Door.

Really miss Knightmare, seems like only my brother and I remember it.

  8. Can’t remember if it’s British but Round the Twist caught me on the theme tune alone. God, there are so many that I need a list to remind me.

  9. ZZZap! I always forget the name of it until I go back and Google it. There was one of the panels that never seemed to get chosen.
