For example, you go swimming by yourself, just to take a dip after a hike. A family shows up and their kids get in the water but the parents do not. The kids introduce themselves, splash you and invite you to play tag. They say “watch this!” And show you tricks. They get in your personal space. Parents do no intervene. How would parents expect an adult to respond? I work with kids and love kids, and they always seem to gravitate towards me. I feel like I’m pretty good with kids, I just don’t want to seem like a creep. Just curious what the social norms are.
