The train staff let the train go 4 minutes early and now not only have we missed that, we are gonna miss our coach too.

  2. Any chance national express or Megabus are heading down to London from your neck of the woods? Bla bla car might help too

  3. If your train was cancelled the staff who have refused you access to the next available service are bang wrong …however if you told them that you missed the train (*which you initially believed, then technically they are right – they would see that as your error and not obligated to allow you to travel on another service*)

It’s also about how you speak with staff – if you are stressed it’s possible you have come across as rude / demanding …if so they are far less likely to be lenient.

Have a human (*calm / polite / reasonable*) conversation with them explain that you were wrong about the missed train, that it was cancelled and ask for their help.

If you are already through the barriers and able to board the train, as another has posted, find the guard aboard and explain to them as you get on.

Best of luck OP – I can imagine this is stressful but I find that being calm & kind works wonders. You might even be able to explain to the coach company and grab the next coach down (assuming there’s space)
