Men who’ve switched barbers, why?

  1. Switch? I’m still trying to find one that will give me the cut I want. I need to keep looking or just go to a legit stylist.

  2. Always and everytime, because my usual place has a queue that I am not prepared to wait in. I never return. Except the one time I went somewhere completely different while I was having tyres changed

  3. For years I went to a variety of stylists. Changes usually resulted from them moving not me. Started going to a barber near work 15 years ago. I liked them, but unfortunately the rotating staff meant it was hard to get a consistent cut and the waits were getting stupid. Plus I was getting too many details about these women’s lives.

Finally ended up going to a place by my new office. Appointment only – which I love. And in business speak it would be called a minority owned small business. A plus. Great haircuts. They’ve started going off the deep end politically but I hate trying to find a new place.

  4. I like my hair short and they deliberately started to cut it longer so I need come more often.

  5. He retired 🙁 He only spoke Polish and I English so we never talked. I miss our not-conversations but I’m happy for him retiring.

  6. The last time I went to a barber, I realized that they were just giving me a cut I could get for free at home. So, I stopped going. That was 16 years ago and I’ve been managing my own grooming since. I plan to be going to a barber for the first time in over a decade next week because my sister specifically requested it for her wedding. I expect my beard to look especially nice for the photos, but I doubt I am going to see anything that convinces me to regularly attend a barber.

  7. My old barber always did a hatchet job on beard/mustache and was unreliable when it comes to business hours. I changed to a barber that is appointment only and they do fantastic work. Been there about a dozen times now.

  8. Well she cut my hair up until she had her third kid and went SAHM. Then eventually found another who cut my hair until she had her 2nd child opened her own salon and quit doing cuts. New one is great so far, not planning to have kids. 😂

  9. Didn’t like the barbers constant running commentary on what he would do sexually to various women walking by on the street during my haircuts

  10. I was going to an old school barber that closed during the pandemic. Switched to a Sport Clips close to my house after a coworker told me about how good it was. Good haircut, its mostly guys there, sports on big screen TVs. Usually one of my favorite parts is getting my hair washed. For $5 extra they have a VIP package where they sit you in a massaging chair in a darker room and wash/massage your hair and scalp. Sometimes I do it twice for a 15 minute, $10 massage session with my haircut and I leave there with a huge smile on my face for less than $35. Obviously every stylist is different but I’ve been satisfied there.

  11. COVID happened so I became my own barber. I do miss those sexy skin tapers that my barber would do, but I’ve said over $800 on haircuts the past two years.
