I am a music lover and I need to be listening to music all the time, but I feel that this may have prevented some people from talking to me in public places (for example at the gym). Although I feel that if I stop using them, I might end up without the music and without being approached.

  1. Give it a try a week. I used to be like that, always music on. But one day I forgot my headphones, and this little event happened. So I stopped using headphones all the time and cancelled my Spotify subscription, which low key was making me feel I had to listen to music 24/7 to make it worth it, and also thinking of all the songs I had on my playlists that I have put together for years now I will have to listen to ads….noooo. Now I only listen to music once in a while, not daily, usually when I drive and clean my apt or sometimes just sometimes when cooking or in the computer as background. It has become more of an event, like I literally sit and go to my YouTube play lists and just sit there listening for an hour or so, it’s kind of like a relaxing unplugged kind of time. But back to your question, maybe this alone won’t increase the chances of people approaching you more, but those couple times that might it happen they won’t the turn off by your headphones.
