it’s one of the biggest fintech companies in my country, the offices are THAT kind where it’s free coffee, free fresh cooked breakfast lunch and pastries all day, pays commute, free drinks every friday, flies you out for events etc. its the best and the worst, i do love the pretentiousness. i love how much i love the meaningless small talks, big obnoxious laughs, a smile with teeth as the default expression, kind words coming from a condescending face.

one small issue, im basically a “teen” and all my colleagues are in their thirties. i never had problems socializing even though im horrible at social cues because it literally feels like im a personality hire and they accept and like my behaviors that would be considered “a little off” in a different environment. but i look like somebody’s daughter visiting for bring ur kid to work day.

i live in europe so i can go out for drinks and all bc its 18+ but realistically there’s no way i contribute to a conversation with people who’s lived at least 10 years more than me. do you have a younger person at your office, is this even relatable

tldr: i joined the white collar finance bro world as a teen (who -rightfully- acts like a teen) and its weird as shit, i need perspective and input from older people of this world.

  1. I’ve worked in ad agencies and studios my entire life. Dress the part, wear what a 30 year old would wear and rock it!
