I know the purpose of getting to know someone is to ask questions about them and show them genuine interest and it helps keep the conversation continue, but I want to do it in a way where it doesn’t make them feel like an interrogation while keeping the conversation going.

  1. Join a club that has some of your interests and find people with similar interests.. thus you’ve started out with a seed of knowledge and thus no need for interrogation.

  2. Just remember you don’t need to ask them 21 questions, you have plenty of time to get to know them. Make sure you add in your own acedotes when appropriate so it’s not all about them, they want to know you too!

  3. Make comments on observations instead. “You mentioned you like dogs. That’s really cool. Could you tell me more?”
