Why are the shelves empty of cheap cooking oil?

1. Lots of sunflower oil comes from Ukraine

2. Russia and Ukraine are two of the world’s largest exporters of sunflower oil.

3. Gotta burn something to keep warm now the heating costs have skyrocketed.

7. IDK.. Might be to do with the war between the 2 biggest producers of sunflower seeds in the world who between them grow 69% of the World’s sunflowers..

8. Ukraine is the worlds largest exporter of sunflower oil and wheat.

   So…expect more of this until that situation is resolved.

9. They found out diesel cars run on sunflower oil.

10. People are putting it in their diesel tanks.

11. Nothing do with Ukraine like some have said, last years harvest and previous is already in the supply chain.

    People are buying it for diesel cars and generators, along with restaurants etc buying it because its cheaper in the supermarkets than from catering suppliers

14. Wholesale price of veg oil has gone up 1000%. Iceland just announced that they’re going back to using palm oil in their foods because of it.
