I’ve tried looking for places near where I live, where I can try them out, but obviously sitting for a minute or so isn’t the same as sitting for longer periods.

I tried looking online, and found a company that seemed great, then looked at reviews, which absolutely slated them!!!

My poor old legs get so sore from sitting.

  1. IKEA Markus with leather base cushion was the most comfortable I’ve ever had, I’m 6 ft. Some days I would be sitting for 3 to 4 hours straight and I hated the cheap office chairs my company bought so I bought my own. I was very happy with it. Had it for 2 years and it hadn’t lost any comfort whatsoever.

  2. The most comfortable chair I have ever owned is from a Norwegian company called Ekornes. First bought one in 1977 and it is still in use today. Whilst not aimed at office use it would be possible to get a skate for mobility (as I have done) and with the huge range they do now you might find one that suits. HTH.

  3. I ordered a gaming chair online, which can be bought in different sizes, and a lumbar support cushion. I’m too short to be comfy in a standard chair, but being able to buy the small size solved the problem. I imagine getting a large chair should do the same for a tall person.

  4. As much as they get slated for the cost, this is why I got a gaming chair (dx racer) because they list what heights they’re suitable for (I’m 6’4″).

People also swear by Herman millers, but then they’re really expensive!

  5. Herman Miller do great chairs. I have an Aeron which is the top of the range.
You can pick up second hand ones of these reasonably.
Their other chairs are also great and a friend of mine also recommends the Mira.

No they’re not cheap brand new. But I sit in a chair more than I sleep in my bed. It’s worth the money.
