For one , It isn’t your “fault” neither is it his “fault” . If anything you can blame evolutions “just good enough ” solutions.
If you think that was awkward. It gets more awkward: Maybe his penis doesn’t actually fit. Your too tight and he’s too big. Having seen neither you or him I couldn’t answer that.
Now there are 2 possible issues in my mind. The first is a question of arousal:
1. Did you get very aroused? Where you very wet around your vagina? Like could a finger (cut and trim nails) slide right in or does it get hung up on the outer or inner lips?
2. Was his penis actually stiff or still kinda soft and floppy? a fully aroused penis is at least as strong as banana. Even as hard as a fresh cucumber.
Now if either of you where not fully aroused. THATS FINE. Especially the first time, there are so many nerves it is downright stressful. Hell I have had sex for nearly 24 years now. This January we went swinging for the first time and due to nerves I lost my erection despite taking a pill to help. As far a you maybe not being all wet. That is fine too. Its why people have been using lubrication for ages.
The second thought in my mind could be a size thing. You are a virgin and maybe he is just straight up too big for you. Can you get a finger in when you play with yourself? Two fingers? Three?
This is really more of a topic for women around here but there are ways to dialate the vagina. But you really need to talk to a doctor before going down this route.
