I (17f) stare too much, for example, I am noticing a person that is somehow interesting (nice haircut or whatever) or a person I already know and don’t avert my eyes off of them enough.

It’s uncomfortable because it reveals that I am thinking about that person, but it is also obviously creepy and strange.

But I find myself looking at people or just having my eyes wander off to some person. There seems to be a kind of casual indifference of others in socially competent people, so they don’t do this weird thing where they stare at people around them.

How to stop doing that without making a conscious effort not to every time?

Edit: I’m gonna try to be more aware of the situation and of my surroundings now as well as being more present in the moment, which will hopefully help me notice when I’m acting in a socially unacceptable way

  1. Looking at someone means you’re interested in having a conversation.. Or interested in the personality.
Making eye contacts makes you “seem interesting. You just have to top your game and take that step to say “Hi” or give a compliment. The more you practice the more easier it’ll become!
And same time don’t stare too much people have different opinions.. (although if you were staring at me and you’re really pretty.. I’d definitely know you’re interested.😉😄).

  2. Make a conscious effort not to for some time until you get used to it.

And i think its not too weird to look at people just dont stare.

  3. I stare at people all the time, because people are interesting. Nothing wrong with that. If they catch you staring, act politely, look away or keep staring.
