I had a bit of an accident that left some wounds and marks on my face. They should hopefully look a lot better in a week or so but in the time being, when I see someone I know, should I say something or wait for them to ask? If I should bring it up, what should I say? I feel like I’m creating awkward situations but don’t know how to go about bringing it up or what to say. Ty!

  1. I think a factual statement like “I crashed my bike” or “I didn’t wear a face shield when grinding” without seeking sympathy would be good to say first. It would make the person you saw more comfortable. Otherwise they’d be wondering if they should say something…

  2. I think you have to do what is most comfortable for you. It’s okay that you tell what happened, it’s part of your life and that will make the conversation flow.
