There’s a pho place two blocks from my house. I order there at least once a week during the winter. I walk over to pick it up and then shuffle home as quickly as I can to eat it. It’s the perfect amount of time to cool it to the perfect slurping temperature.
Migas. its something i think its unique to my country. There are different types but my favorite is made of bread, kale and black eye beens. I buy about twice a month
I have so many favorite takeout things.
There’s a taco truck near me that does “pizza birria” and that’s my current favorite. It’s so good.
My current favorite while pregnant is honestly just a McDonald’s McChicken with ketchup, mayo, and cheese added with a small fry and honey mustard to dip fries in, plus extra ketchup to dip McChicken in;;; Also, lemonade to wash it down. not healthy but it hits the cravings *just right*
Pre-pregnancy it was chili chicken from the Indian place in the next town over- the spicier the better. The chicken is good, but I almost love the veggies mixed in with it more for some reason??? They go *nuts* with onions and I’m not an onion fan but with the sauce? *Swoons.*
Also, just a huge side of their rice. Idk how they make it, but I LOVE their rice. It’s so satisfying for some reason- especially mixed in with the sauce/drippings from the chicken. Oh, and their rosemary naan is just /chef’s kiss. I can’t wait to visit them again after baby is born ;u; I’m gonna be crying tears of joy and sweet sweet pain
Indian. Usual order is assorted appetizer sampler, saag paneer, vegetable paneer korma, biryani with everything, beef vindaloo, goan fish, goat curry, pick another dish we’ve never tried before, mango lassi, 4 naan. Yes, it’s a LOT of food for 3 people. We do this every 2-3 months and then we just eat it for days.
Malaysian curry laksa, so good. 👌 I get it maybe once a month and normally get it take away that way I can enjoy it for two meals since it’s big enough for it. Always eat it with chopsticks and a soup spoon as well. Mmmm I know what I’m getting Friday now yay.
Mexican: arroz con pollo – it’s chicken, peppers, and mushrooms smothered in queso
Chinese: sweet and sour chicken with a spring roll
there’s a traditional mexican place that is only open in the summer months here. i go a few times and always get super loaded nachos with nacho cheese, homemade salsa, pico, onions, jalapeños, shredded cheese, stewed pinto beans, lettuce, and fresh pineapple. it’s soooooo good
Sushi! We get ospicy tuna, avocado, dragon and Boston rolls, dumplings and miso soup. We’ve got an excellent spot around the corner.
Aside from sushi, spicy Udon with soft tofu cubes 😩
as a vegetarian, i loveee a&w’s beyond meat burger. the patty itself has like half of my daily protein intake, so i just find it so filling and delicious
Japanese udon noodles … the place near me doesn’t have descriptive meal names, just udon or rice noodles but with delicious sauces and you can substitute anything in the way of vegetables or proteins you want in it. You can ask for spicy (my favourite), or rice instead of noodles but why would I, lol. It’s always hot, so flavourful and satisfying every time. I get it about twice a month
California burrito from a taco shop, when we lived in CA. Ordered one once a week, usually on Friday nights, with three green sauces.
Sushi and nigiri! We order eight items for four people and share it — and then we’re so stuffed we don’t eat anything for another 24 hours, haha.
For me, I like to order elotes and roasted nopales for lunch at work, yummmm.
This thread made me hungry, thanks. 😁
This pad Thai place near me is amazing! It’s a damn shame they are closing because they can’t get staff? The owner works 13hrs 6 days a week.
Anything with falafel and hummus.
There’s a restaurant in my neighborhood that makes an excellent personal deep dish pizza. Chef’s kiss.
Orange chicken and fried rice
If I’m feeling wild. I’ll be lazy and order from my favorite Asian restaurant (they already know me since I order the same exact thing all the time). I order shrimp fried rice extra shrimp with 2 packets of soy sauce, pan fried chicken dumplings. Now the drink changes – sometimes I’ll get a coke or an horchata. Ugh it’s been a while since I’ve had this…
