Okay so basically there’s someone I get along with at work very well and we pretty much talk to each other every chance we get. Today we were talking in the breakroom and in the middle of the conversation she looked at her phone then abruptly walked out. I assumed she had to take a call so I was calm but then I noticed she went back to work. It was a pretty safe conversation I mean we were talking about Rick and Morty ffs so I thought it was just weird how she didn’t even say “I need to get back to work” or something. Later I asked her if it was something I said and she said she had to take a call. Now I feel like a self absorbed dick. Should I have a reason to over react like this?

  1. People typically tell you they are taking a call before leaving the conversation. She didn’t give any clear signals she was making a call so I can see why you thought maybe she was offended. I don’t think you over-reacted. Openly communicating with her and asking what happened was a good thing to do. Just next time realize there might be other reasons she walked out. Its possible you have anxious attachment which explains why you completely assumed she was offended, and feel so bad that you asked her and found you where mistaken.
