Alaska is my last one.
I’ve lived in NC, FL, OH, and IL. Only counting ones I’ve actually spent significant time in (not just stopping for lunch or whatever), I’ve been to MO, IN, SC, GA, VA, MD, PA, NJ, NY, CT, RI, MA, ME, TX, CA, NM, WI, MI, KY, and AZ.
Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, D.C., Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa (but only because a bit of it sticks into Nebraska on the way to the airport), Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.
I’ve lived (for atleast 6 months) in: NY, MD, VA, FL, TX, CO.
I’ve visited (at least a few days): CA, PA, OH, UT, NM, AZ, ID, IL, NC, GA, NJ, DE, NV, WI, MA, HI.
States I’ve driven through:
KS, MO, IN, KY, SC, WV
(I’ve also been to PR, and spend a lot of time in DC. I just didnt include them because they arent states)
Probably about 45 over the years —
but since I am New England – in central Mass, I visit about 6-7 states just in day or weekend trips in single summer. Usually Maine, NH, Vermont, NY, RI and Conn.
I’ve been to 12 states + DC
Alaska, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Texas, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, D.C., Virginia, and Georgia

Outside of California, I have visited (i.e. not just driven through or transited at an airport):
Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, Texas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Alaska, and Hawaii.
Also been to DC.
Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Texas, Florida, South Carolina, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Massachusetts, New York, Alaska, Nevada.
I don’t travel much in the US, I have been to more countries then I have been to states.
I am at 28/50. Much of the Northeast and Northwest escape me

About half. VA->FL, IN->VT, and SD->WA are foreign to me.
Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, Illinois, and Oklahoma.
Lived in: TN, FL, VA, GA, IA, (was little and don’t remember MO, IL, MN)
Visited for more than a meal: The three I didn’t remember living in (MO, IL, MN), NC, SC, AL, KY, ND, SD, WY, MT, ID, UT, WV.
Been to the airport and that’s it: CO, TX
I’ve been there, but didn’t really do much but pass by: NB, MS
I have family from Montana that have lived in various places in the west and North Dakota so that’s why I’ve seen there. Everywhere else is where I go see in the south. I’ve never been Northeast, Southwest, West Coast, or to a lot of southern plains stats.
Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin

I’m only counting states I’ve spent significant time in. Transiting via bus/train/plane/car doesn’t count in my book.
* Ohio
* Kentucky
* Illinois
* Michigan
* Tennessee
* Florida
* Pennsylvania
* New York (upstate)
* Massachusetts
* Arizona
* California

* Virginia
Born in and went to college in Illinois, but grew up and live in Missouri. Since I live in Kansas City, going to Kansas is nbd (I work there). Also lived in Utah briefly as a teenager.
Probably easier to list states I have not been to. Or have no recollection of going to:
AK, OR, WA (unless a layover at SEA counts), MT, ND, SD, MN, TN, KY, WV, DE, NJ, NY (unless layover at JFK counts), CT, RI, MA, VT, NH, ME.
Hawaii is on the list for now, but I’m going there next month for vacation.
Some states like Michigan, I’ve been as small child, but never as an adult. Others I’ve been to only because I’ve passed through them.
26/50 but I’ve got the two difficult ones: HI and AK.
I’ve lived in Ohio and Michigan
I’ve spent significant amounts of time in Pennsylvania, New York, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Minnesota, Florida, Texas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Washington, Colorado
I’ve been in New Mexico, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Indiana, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia.
I’ve never been to Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut, or Delaware.
26/50
I manage a sales territory that includes 9 states, and I’ve been to all but 1 of them. I don’t count driving through or flying over, I only count states I’ve pooped in.
Previous jobs have taken me from Montana through Washington, I’ve vacationed in California, and I have family in New England. The area where I’m seriously lacking is the Southwest and Plains states.
I’m up to 27, but there are another 6 that I’ve only either driven through a small section without stopping or made a layover on a flight and never left the airport that I don’t count as having actually visited.
Other than Washington, I’ve lived in Alaska and Minnesota and have visited Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming. Also DC.
I think I’ve been to just about all the ones I have any interest in except Utah. Don’t see any real need to go to the others.
