I’m not convinced anyone actually wants it.
I want it to be Blackpool just because its shit hole
Yeovil, it’s about time something happened there.
Resorts World Arena Birmingham has already cleared its calendar to show it’s not fucking about.
I think Brum would be perfect – I went to the Commonwealth Games and it was absolutely brilliant, and when we came back, we felt really quite sad that we weren’t there anymore. They did such a good job at atmosphere.
Manchester because BBC HQ, and also because national policy is if they want to be seen to be promoting the country beyond London/“supporting the north” just throw something at Manchester
Clearly no one in the comments here has seen the 7 cities actually up for it https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-62496803
> Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield
I’d say it’s going to be Manchester, due to venue size. Highest capacity indoor seated venue in the UK.
Second guess would be Glasgow, given COP26 was a huge international event and Scotland as a whole nailed it.
Probably Manchester because the “establishment” love to virtue signal by giving shit to Manchester.
I’m not too fussed where it happens tbh. I think Birmingham did a fantastic job with the Commonwealth Games so could be there but I also think Liverpool deserves a shout for being the best big city I’ve been to (imo of course).
The commonwealth games was brilliant in Brum and the city was buzzing. So good. Hope we can get the Eurovision too, we have many venues already in place, NEC or NIA.
Sheffield, they can host it in some steelworks to give it a real Ukrainian feel.
It’ll go to Liverpool or Manchester like everything does.
I’m biased towards Brum of course. But if we don’t get it I think Sheffield should. They deserve something.
It was at Birmingham last time it was here
Personally I think Manchester is best suited, or maybe Leeds as they are city of culture. Also both are more in the middle.of the UK. Brimingham is still pretty south
Manchester or Leeds, both have big Ukrainian clubs, though admittedly Leeds’ is combined with other areas of West Yorkshire.
At least thats the criteria they should be looking at.
Manchester has the larger arena but Leeds arena is specifically designed for its acoustics and its a good view even from the back.
