The Redwall series
The Louis Lamour western books, Hardy Boys, and Roald Dahl books.
The Wheel Of Time series, my best friend introduced me to a lot of them. Eragon was pretty good too.
I read a bunch of Hardy Boys.
Choose your own adventure books. Loved them! I used to read them for BOOK IT PIZZA HUT. I miss those days.
Jurassic Park. Or it was at least advertised as a book for boys here.
And yes, the book got released before the movies.
Fables by both De La Fontaine and Aesop. Nicholas series by René Goscinny.

It’s not as well known as some of these, due to its age, but Deathwatch.
It’s about a kid who gets hired as a guide. The guy he’s guiding winds up committing murder, and abandons the boy in the desert, leaving him for dead.
