I need help because there’s like this person I saw that seemed pretty cool and I don’t have much friends but they seem really quiet and I have social anxiety so I don’t know how to ask I don’t know if it’s appropriate to put some thing in their locker or how I would do that or how I approach so I just need help

  1. I wouldn’t suggest you leave them something in their locker. If you have a free period where you can somewhat socialize I would approach them and ask them a relevant topic about class or something going on and that would be the deciding factor to keep the conversation alive. You decide after that if they talk enough or don’t ignore you start talking about yourself and your interests with them.

  2. I’m not sure if leaving something at their locker is the way to go, but I won’t stop you.

I honestly just recommend asking them basic conversation starters, such as:
“So, what do you have next period?”
“Man this class seems to last forever.”
(Or just ask them for their help for class work and stuff)

-even though these starters seem to be overused, they help with starting convos pretty easily. And remember not to bombard them with questions in attempt to make a long lasting conversation, it’ll just drain them out/make them feel like they’re feeling interviewed. But at the same time, don’t feel afraid to ask questions here and there.

It takes a lot of guts, so if you just want to take it slow, kindly offer to return/collect classroom laptops for them if they’re your seat partner.

But tbh, I wouldn’t be in this subreddit I’d I had more knowledge about social convos, so that’s all I got. Hope this helps ya.
