I met this new waitress at my bar I go to every week and told my buddy I think she’s cute. He got up and said if she knew me and said the shy one over there. Over the next few weeks we have had some conversation in passing and the last 2 times she stayed after she got off and had a drink with me and chatted. Then I found out she was going to be bartending another night so I decided to come in and chatted a little bit and when paying I was given her number without asking for it and I waited a few days to text a basic hello and have not heard anything. Did I mess up or just be patient as I’ll see her at the bar again when I go again.

Maybe the hello was just a little too boring and basic. Did you even tell her who you were? Does she have your phone number in her phone to know it was you? Maybe ask her out. Also, how long has it been since you sent the text? Give her some time. Clearly she wanted you to have her number or else she would not have given it to you.
