Be there
Mostly through being happy myself.
I hardly have friends. There are only one or two people I guess who I can rely on, and we don’t get a chance to talk for months. So when we do, I try my best to give them a chance to talk about everything they have been holding inside. And yes they do feel happy and relaxed after sharing.
Paying attention to them helps!
I like to give my friends little handmade notes and things <3
You can’t make anyone happy. I learned that the hard way. What I *can* do is check up on them, include them in things, care about their highs and low, be helpful and love them in the way they wish to be loved. They will feel joy and happiness in the process but if they’re not happy for any reason, I am not responsible unless I did something awful.

Occasionally pay genuine interest in how they feel, how’s their health etc. I have noticed that people really appreciate this and usually feel good after sharing. I guess people don’t pay attention to their friends well being too often
Being there for them, supportive and when I tell them the truth even if it hurts so I can keep them back on track. Also I think it helps that they think I’m funny without even exerting an effort to make them laugh.
