I had fun with u/OrganicGas4568 ‘s [post about what car screams douchebag](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskMen/comments/xazyqg/what_car_automatically_screams_douchebag_to_you/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3), so wanted to do the inverse.
What car do you respect seeing more on the road?
For me it’s a Westfalia as #1. People that are into Westfalia’s by choice tend to be kind-hearted hippie types. Next would be Mini Cooper Electric, and then any other non-gas-guzzling car.

Kit cars.
Some of the safest drivers on the road, I’ve found. Because they built that shit themselves.
Leyland mini. all that effort to keep something going, having to fix something that breaks every other time, just to drive what is essentially a glorified go-kart with a roof. I give a fair bit of respect to that
I had a 1963 thunderbird. When I was 17. So this was 1996. Chalfonte blue with indigo interior. 390 engine. I went to go pick up a girl for a date. Her dad answered the door. Nice guy. Sort of razing me a little then he noticed my car. Dude fell in love with that car. “Why are YOU driving this car????” Hey man, I like old cars and this one is badass. He wanted to talk about it so much it was his daughter that told him we had to go. I was always buying and selling shut. I get tired of something and I move on. I gave him first option on that car and he bought it. Lol
Any air-cooled Porsche 911.
None, mostly because everyone behind the wheel is either oblivious or a jackass.
Any car that is uncommon and isn’t easily purchased by anyone who doesn’t know what it is.

Any Ferrari made before 1975
Any Aston Martin

McLaren F1
A well maintained classic muscle car
A tastefully restored old Cadillac, Impala, or muscle car.
1971 AMC Gremlin in mint condition. If you are still driving that piece of shit after 50 years, you deserve mad respect
Old restored cars. Always driving the speed limit by a cheerful old guy.
Low riders. They are usually just cruising around in no hurry. I usually give a thumbs up.
Any older “meh” car that is being taken care of and kept on the road. Why? Because I have respect for people who resist the urge to constantly get rid of perfectly good things “because they’re old or out of style”. That late 90s Sentra wagon still getting you where you need to go and getting done what needs to get done? You have my respect sir/madame. Double that respect if the driver is in an occupation where there is extra pressure to show off their earnings.
None.
funny. Those all scream *pretentious Git*, to me.
A Classic car, A 90’s car still functioning, a car that looks like it has been through a car wash recently.
No duct tape or damage.

any well built car like a pro street style builds.
There’s something about restored trucks from the ’30s and ’40s with a modded engine that commands respect. A close second is a Bentley or Jaguar XJS.
Anything loved and cared for for YEARS. I like the guys I meet at cars and coffee driving/owning the same car for 30 years or something like that.
Any.
A nice, newer Volvo.
You may have a 99 IQ, but it easily makes you appear to have a 125.
Mercedes. I’m thinking CEO that doesn’t need to compensate for something.
Audi is also good.
Fire engine
Any car that’s following the rules and not taking up the passing lane.
