Are you familiar with the metaphysical concept of “everywhere”?
Your experience is normal – York is pretty dry and so is a lot of the East.
West is wetter, and high is wetter.
NW Hghlands are UNBELIEVABLY wet, 4x or more wetter than York.
Ayr in Scotland. A lot of wet weather seems to land in the west and sweep upwards.
Glasgow, miserable weather most of the year.
Yorkshire!
It rains a lot in Ferndown to be honest especially today.
East Coast had a rain shadow effect from the pennines so it’s OK, west coast is a whole lot wetter
Lol, do you have a rain fetish?
Stornaway.
Don’t worry, autumn is coming and with it lots of lovely rain.
Skye, it rains a lot.
The general rule is the further North and West, the wetter it gets, the further South and East, the drier.

In my experience, the Lake District. Hence the lakes.
Cumbria, we have two types of weather:
1. Raining.
2. Not raining yet.
Western Highlands and western isles. Ungodly amount of rain.
Wales
From my personal experience, anywhere the army regularly trains or has a shooting range, your guaranteed a decent amount of rain all year round.
North Derbyshire, in the higher ground. Places like Glossop.
Seathwaite, Allerdale. Wettest place in the Country
Wet and cozy? Lake District.
Middle of Wales.
North Wales. Go to Bangor and enjoy the horizontal rain.
Wales or Scottish highlands. Both are lovely places.
Pretty sure wales gets the most rain.
