Should i give up?

Im 18M and I have a crush on this girl 2 years younger than me. It began when i was at third grade, i met her at the dormitory. She always seemed interested in me, she gave kisses on the cheek and she sat on my lap often. It felt like we were flirting, but covid happened and we no longer met in person. We messaged each other for a few weeks than we just stopped. Now im at 4th grade but my crush no longer lives in the dormitory so i couldn’t meet him. I always wanted to call her out for a date or something but since I didn’t have experience I was afraid. Than my friends at the dormitory tried to set up a date for me and my crush at the nearby caffe restaurant, it was stupid from me to allow it. The problem was that my crush had no idea it was going to be a date cause why would she think i want to date her if I didn’t even talk to her for so long? She thought we will just hang out with friends, but the plan was to make me and my crush arrive at the caffe restaurant first, than leave us alone when my friends arrive. She felt weird and talking with her was pretty painful. Than it turned out that she invited her friends too and called them to our table. That was the moment i knew i fucked up. Anyways, lot of other stuff happened but its meaningless. I texted her at the end of the day telling her that i wanted to call her out for a date, but since i was afraid my friends tried to set it up instead. She ofcourse than told me she really hated this. I apologized to her and asked for another chance. Weird thing is that she said that if I called her out on a date alone than she would have gladly gone out with me, but than she said that she doesn’t believe it will work out if I call her out again. I apologized again and said that I won’t be mad or anything like that if she doesn’t want me. We ended the conversation peacefully. 2 days have passed since and im still in love with her. My friends still try to encourage me to call her out again but I don’t think it will work out. What do you think? I have gained experience and now i feel like I could call out any girl, but right now she is the only one im interested in. Also, sorry for my english, its my second language.
