I got a Kenneth Cole Reaction as a gift, they are about 20 bucks. Has lasted me for about 13 years now. Lost the middle piece of plastic where the ID goes a couple of years back, but in terms of comfort and style its been great.
If you want something really nice Bottega Veneta. I have one, and the leather is the best I’ve seen from designer brands. Mine is dark red and patinas nicely. If you want a “no name” wallet since he loses, them Polare makes a nice quality cheap one, you can find them on amazon.

Fossil makes a decent leather wallet that’s affordable and you can get on Amazon or your local Macy’s type place.
FWIW I have found nothing better than a “sailcloth” type wallet. I stopped using leather 20 years ago, and the sailcloth has the slickness I like with ultra-durability. Maybe something different!
