I’ve noticed quite a few AskUKers today reading subs they don’t agree with then coming here to disagree with and moan about them (One stands out in particular )

Why is that ?

Why don’t they just disagaree with the people they actually disagree with ?

Is there a more sympathetic bubble here or something ?

Genuinely interested.

  1. There’s nothing more British than moaning about things you don’t like or disagree with. It’s the one universal that unites us all.

  2. There’s no trying to argue your point on that particular sub as you get banned for going against their narrative and people don’t really want a debate, just to mean.

  3. Reddit keeps trying to push G&P on me because I’m from the UK and generally a bit left leaning, so I suppose algorithm-wise it’s a match so my feed gets flooded.

Actually, I don’t like that sub and wish I could block its edge-lord content from my feed. It’s the most annoying thing about Reddit for me at the moment and imagine it’s the same way for a lot of other people, hence the threads here. I’m not interested in going there to disagree with people and they don’t want me there doing that, so I just don’t want to see it.

Well, the sub in question immediately bans anybody who doesn’t 100% buy into their ideology, and also definitely-doesn’t-use bots to upvote posts, putting them on the Front Page of Reddit despite a relatively low count of actively posting users.

  5. Which sub are we talking about? I genuinely don’t know. R/unitedkingdom?

If that’s the case then I can see why. It’s extremely left-leaning making it impossible to have any sort of decent discussion as anything even slightly away from the left’s ideology gets downvoted to hell.
