Hello everyone, so my flight was delayed returning the other week by 3.5 hours so I am entitled to compensation. I’m having a bit of a nightmare though as Ryanair, either online or through the app are asking for my email, this is not my normal email address but a unique temporary one that is given when booked through an online travel agent.

I no longer have that email address as it was only used to log in to manage the booking, so now when I attempt it( as the flight is obviously in the past) it doesn’t show.

Anyone got any ideas on how to proceed?

  1. I was in a similar situation and the flight was delayed by 14 hours overnight. No water, food, accommodation, nothing. All I was told is that it was out of their control and I can’t get any compensation.

  2. Think the give you up back in pennies but it has to fit in the size of a hang luggage bag or they keep it…

  3. Never had to do it with RyanAir.

But do bear in mind that the EU compensation rules only apply when the delay is the airline’s fault.

If it was out of their control (e.g. air traffic control stopped flights) then they don’t have to pay you anything.

I was delayed by the Queen’s funeral, no compo, and in fact BA emailed me a week beforehand saying there wouldn’t be compo if there were delays due to the restrictions.

There was one guy who saw the queue for the Tube after the flight and muttered, “This is making me even more anti-monarchy”.

  4. Yes, years ago although the coach to the airport was delayed and I would have missed the flight if it was on time.
