So I’m going to an anime convention in a week and I’m really nervous. I want to talk to people and maybe make some friends because the two conventions I’ve been to before I was always with my friends, so I didn’t really meet that many new people. But like… How do I even approach a cosplayer for example? I go up to them, compliment their cosplay, maybe ask for a picture and then what? I don’t want to feel like I’m bothering them or anything

  1. Well if they’re dressed as a character from a show or game you like, that’s a great place to start a conversation. You could always ask if they have social media to follow, most cosplayers do. I don’t cosplay but my girlfriend does. She loves when people ask for photos and follow her accounts, but I’m not sure if she expects to keep in contact with anyone. Most conventions have panels that might feature something you’re interested in. If you go there you might find people who like the same stuff as you. Good luck!
