I highly doubt it would change. The only reason I think their flag would change is if they seceded from the US
That would be up to Hawaiians, but I don’t see why they would bother to change it. Since the connection is a historic and not a current one, there is no reason they have to change it.
Nothing
It would be up to the Hawaii legislature.
I doubt they’d change it. It’s a historical reference not a modern one that would need updating.
It’s not tethered to the modern-day Union Jack specifically… it just uses it because King Kamekameha wanted a flag that looked plausibly British and American so neither side started shooting at his fleet during the War of 1812.
It’s on there for historical reasons (none of which are actual allegiance to the British crown, oddly enough) so there’d be no reason to change it really.
It has no modern practical meaning so I doubt it would change.
But the Hawaiian government could do whatever they want with their flag whenever they want.
they would probably keep it, I don’t know
Hawaii has never been part of the UK so they probably wouldn’t care to change it. The flag is meant to be a mix of the US and UK flags because they wanted to stay neutral during the war of 1812.
If there’s any changes, it would be to ditch the flag altogether for something more indicative of their indigenous history
Absolutely nothing?
It would definitely be up to the Hawaiian people. They would want to have to change it I guess.
Probably nothing.
State flags aren’t really a big deal here. Sometimes I forgot what’s actually on the NYS flag.
Nothing my states flag has several symbols that no longer exist and aren’t relevant today. Delaware isn’t exactly known for its shipbuilding or militiamen today.
UK flag on Hawaiian flag is just a historical nod.
Up to the Hawaiians to decide. If you seen our state flags, it is obvious they are low priority.
