Brit here. I always imagined from watching various sitcoms and other US shows that ‘girl scout cookies’ were…

I wouldn’t say he’s a household name yet. He will be if he does well at the World Cup. He’s known by more than just soccer fans, but I wouldn’t go as far as saying he’s known by the average American.
He’s still just 23, we missed the 2018 WC (which he would have played in), has had a ton of injuries of the last 3-4 years (and missed a ton of USMNT games because of it, including 4 of our 14 WCQ games in this cycle), and has had an up and down tenure at Chelsea. He just hasn’t been able to be consistently in the headlines.
I’ve never heard this name in my life.
Never heard of him
I thought you misspelled a word so no, VERY unfamiliar with the name.
Haven’t heard of him. There are really only a few soccer players that even approach household name here. David Beckham (Posh Spice’s husband), Messi, Ronaldo, and I’m not sure I can name another off the top of my head.
Never heard of him. I follow sports closely, but not soccer.
I don’t think so. There is a growing interest in the sport, but it’s still primarily a children’s game.
I’ve never heard of him and I don’t watch soccer at all.
Who?
Most commoners would not know of the might of PuliGod
Never heard of him
No idea who this is
Nope. He’s considered the best American soccer player right now but just goes to show you how unpopular that sport is in this country.
I am not a soccer fan, but I know that he is a soccer player.
Nope. He gained some recognition, especially being nicknamed Captain America, but most folks won’t know him.
He should be.
I have never heard of this person.
Nope.
You mean the lebron james of soccer???
I know him but I’m a chelsea fan so that’s not fair. I feel like the most well known soccer player would still be Freddy Adu as crazy as that seems. His hype level was crazy. Landon Donovan would probably still have some recognition.
No clue who that is.
Who?
It’s a shame, but yeah.. only soccer fans. He may be the best player in US history, and he’s still less popularly known than many average players in the top 3 sports. Such is life.
He is in my household! He was the first USMNT jersey I’ve ever purchased
Europeans think we know these sports players.
Right now mostly by soccer fans but in 7 months when the World Cup is on he will become much better known.
Only by soccer players/fans
Christian Pulisic? As opposed to Jewish Pulisic or Muslim Pulisic? Never heard of it. Sounds like a Balkan dish.
Super familiar with him but I am a long time Premiere League fan, played myself as a kid and coached rec. league for a number of years.
Most Americans will have no idea as they don’t follow the sport.
LMAO I cannot believe he’s more popular in Europe than he is in the States!
Never heard of him 😅 but I don’t keep up with sports at all
I have no idea who that is.
Sports fans yes, unfortunately no in like the general public
Nope… never heard the name before this post. I’m a big sports fan, but don’t follow soccer.
Check back after the world cup in December 🙂
… who?
I knew he was an athlete. That’s about it.
Among me and my friends i would say yes. I was actually surprised to see so many people saying no on this thread.
That sounds like a sex position for kinky religious people.
I honestly think David Beckham is the only household name out of all of soccer, and even that may be a stretch.
Who?
Never heard of him.
But I’ll tell you what, I’m interested now.
Soccer is a weird thing. It’s pushed hard – and has been for years – for young kids; toddler, child, teen, etc. It’s popular at the High School and College level, and after that it seems to take a nose dive in popularity. Nationally, we don’t really care about soccer, but there are many localized areas where it’s really popular/enjoyed. It’s a shame too, because it’s a good game. I will say it has gotten more popular in the last 15 years or so, but it’s not close to becoming center-stage.
The only major sport I watch is Baseball, I’m really good there with knowledge. Basketball and Hockey fair, but no where near baseball.
