For some added context, I have a girlfriend of 7 months, and we’ve tried to go together but it hasn’t quite lined up. We’re interested in pegging in the future, but for the past 3 months all we’ve done is on and off assplay with her wearing gloves.

We currently own no sex toys, so I’m pretty much going in dark.

I was thinking maybe a plug or something to slowly work on my ass, I don’t know if a dildo would be advisable and if so what kind, etc.

I’m hoping to set a $50 limit as well, is that unreasonable?

Any and all advice would be appreciated.

  1. A small plug, or a set of plugs that increase in size, would probably suit you well. You get that satisfaction of it popping into place after you’ve worked it in.

A dildo is another good idea, it’s a different kind of sensation (thrusting) rather than feeling “full” like a plug. What do you enjoy most when she’s playing with you with gloves?

In terms of what specifically to get, maybe look for something 1.2″ in diameter to get you started (or slightly bigger, depending how many fingers your gf uses on you).

The best material to go for is silicone, as it’s non-porous (won’t hold smells) and won’t leech chemicals into your body. It is a little more expensive than something made out of “jelly” or TPR though. You can always put a toy inside a condom for hygiene reasons though if you get a toy made from a cheaper material.

  2. The Cadillac of prostate toys is the [NJoy Purewand](https://www.njoytoys.com/product/purewand/). (It’s also the Cadillac of g-spot toys.) That’s about $120 retail but the reputation of this toy is hard to overstate. It does it’s thing with the curve, the weight, and a gentle rocking action. (Once it is in, it’s essentially a direct line to your prostate.)

There is also a vibrating knock off called the [PlusOne Vibrating Arc](https://www.target.com/p/plusone-vibrating-arc/-/A-81782444#lnk=sametab) which lands inside your price range ($40) and is really similar to the NJoy. It won’t be as rigid or heavy as the NJoy which means it won’t give you the same sensation but it does vibrate and either you or your partner can use that same curve to massage your prostate. (It’s not a direct line to the prostate like the NJoy, but it is still pretty amazing.)

If I were getting into prostate play for the first time, I would start with the PlusOne and then save up for the Purewand. Also, consider using a vibrator on your perineum while you are using a toy or against the toy while it is inserted. Doing this with a partner during oral sex can be a life-altering experience.

Also, take a look at r/ProstatePlay for guidance on how to make this kind of sex play work for you.
