I (22 F) recently started college and it has made me meet really cool friends that I love being around with but this one person is constantly phoning me at night, wanting me to go up to their house, we live quite far apart and busses are few and far between, wanting to go out for drinks and stay over on the weekends, etc.
I do enjoy spending time with her (she’s 19 f) but I work all week alongside college, I’m saving for a house and have animals to tend to so I’m exhausted at the end on the week!
She has no job, lives with her semi rich parents, gets everything handed to her, doesn’t pay for anything, expects others to pay for her and get her things she wants. Her parents wanted her to get a part-time job, they pay her £100 a week because the placement is unpaid, but she flat out refused because she didn’t want to loose her free time. She is meant to do 18 hours work placement a week but said it was too much so lied to her parents saying she was working too many hours for the course so the placement reduced the hours for her but really she secretly asked the placement to reduce her hours. The hours she was working were two eleven hour shifts a week so plenty of time for a part time job especially now as she’s reduced them!
She visited her toxic as f boyfriend in another country and spent all her money on the morning after pill so I stupidly lent her £50 to get the train to the airport because I thought it was more of an emergency till I found out her parents give her money all the time when she asks but not wanting to ruin the friendship because it’ll make college awkward as we sit at the same table I haven’t asked for it back when I do need it!
Anyway the point of this is how do I politely say no I’m tired so I’m not coming or talking tonight and give me my money back without causing a war??
