The first thing that comes to my mind is Tesla’s wireless energy transmitter
It’s not ignored, it’s not practical right now because almost half of the energy is loss due to wireless transmission and heat. If this idea was ignored we wouldn’t have wireless chargers for our phones, headphones, watches etc. this tech is slowly evolving and we can’t afford to waste half of energy we need.
Washing your hands properly. When Ignaz Semmelweis found out, that the reason, women were dying after giving birth was transmission of bacteria from dead bodies onto them, other doctors were furious, that he called them dirty and blamed them for their patient’s deaths. He ended up in an asylum, where he was beaten to death. It took years of dedicated work of others to finally get surgeons and obgyns to listen. And the notion still hasn’t fully reached the general public that you need to wash your fucking hands.
