So I (21m) don’t like to drink, drug or dance and so there isn’t too much I can do at a party.

Because of this I usually don’t go to parties, but often in a while there are unavoidable parties I must assist. One of this is happening in there days, I must assist to the party of med faculty (I am a med student) because our generation is supposed to make somekind of welcoming to the new students in first semester.
I am really worried about what I am going to do there, I don’t want to be a drag for my friends but also I don’t want to be alone all the time. And also maybe I will be paired with someone from first semester to participate in some sort of drinking game or similar welcoming, but I don’t drink (I am completely teetotaler) and neither do I want to make my assigned freshman have a bad day or being rude with him/her by refusing to participate in the drinking game.

Any advice?

  1. Just dont drink then! Grab a virgin cocktail or something tasty with no alcohol! Go chat with other people who are alone or seem to be hanging back! Its not like every single person at the party is dancing and drinking!

You will have to force yourself to loosen up though, since no drinking, but thats totally doable! It just takes practice! If anyone beckons you to drink, make up some story about how your from a family of alcoholics and have bad memories of it or something, whatever! Or just tell em your not drinking! Whatever! Good luck and try to have fun!
