I’ve been told by a solicitor to expect some prison time. I’ve got a good career, no past…

I went to a neighbour’s back garden bonfire once, when I was about 14. A firework exploded on the ground and sent off sparks, which hit my ear. I used to have a scar before I got it pierced. It hurt like a bitch and I’ll never forget the stink of cooking human flesh. It was so hot and burned that it didn’t even bleed. My mum immediately doused it with water and it blistered like mad, which hurt worse. The real scary thing? I had an open box of fireworks on my lap. If any of the sparks had missed me and hit the box….. 😳 People should be required to have a license to let off fireworks. They are ridiculously dangerous.
I am doing a bonfire night tomorrow. No fireworks though, primarily because I like dogs/animals more than humans and secondarily because for a lot less money, I can go see a firework show 5901 times better than anything I can do in my garden.
My house is 400 years old, made of wood, and grade II listed. I think I’ll go to the one on the village green
Yep. Going to one tonight.
We used to do big fireworks parties at our house, inviting all the family from both sides…until the year my pyromaniac pensioner father set our fence on fire. Refused to host since and now I’m rather insistent on him hosting.
Tonight I’ll be safe in the knowledge that it’ll be my parents property to go up in flames, not ours, with the bonus comedy element of my mother hiding her face in shame from their neighbours for the next week or so. My dad is like an excitable toddler on bonfire night.
Going to have to this year, the city cancelled all the municipal displays.
