Better than dating some rando from a dating app
If you’re willing to deal with the consequences if things don’t work out, or things getting weird and you still have to see this person everyday, or hell, if you’re willing to understand if things get serious this is a 24/7 partner, then sure go for it.
I personally do not do it. You need to be upfront with what you expect in the relationship and that it will not affect your working relationship. You should be mature enough to separate the personal from the work. If you can’t, don’t do it.
Speaking from experience.. it can get really messy, really quickly if things go south and end poorly.
Nope, worst idea ever. The phrase don’t dip your pen in company ink exists for a reason.
Everyone’s situation is different! You just need to know to keep it professional in the workplace, but outside of work, you’re free to do whatever.
I think what you need to consider and really consider it well is if the person is mature and emotionally intelligent. Please know this before hand , don’t conflate them with the image you have of them as wonderful person in your head. If the counterpart is mature , no matter what happens you can both move on and be professional . It might be awkward at times but your career and life moves on . Now consider the immature person ( ALOT OF PEOPLE ) , you can deal with a hostile work environment, them not talking to you anymore, them spreading rumors about you , losing your job , them blowing up on you , etc etc . Work is a place where we spend most of our time so this question always comes up . Most people say no because it is risky but I really think it is matter of the individuals. Also, please consider people like to portray themselves much better then they actually are. Best of luck , hopefully that helped!
