I went on my first ever Hinge date and it went surprisingly well! We went for a dinner at this new Italian restaurant in town and had a fun and genuine talk. When we said our goodbyes, we agreed we both had a great time, but none of us mentioned anything about the 2nd date, so I thought maybe we would make plans via chat instead. But then I screwed it up in the way I followed up, I guess.

Since they haven’t done so first, I have texted them a little later and said that it was a lot of fun meeting them. They asked me earlier that day to send them a link to this article I mentioned about a photographer they are interested in, so I added that to my message as well and asked if they have seen her exhibition earlier this year. They thanked for the article and said they unfortunately missed the exhibition last time but are hoping to see her photography in the future. I guess I didn’t really know what to say so I didn’t reply, but it’s now been over 2 days and none of us said anything else, because it was such a dead-end conversation that I lead to. And there is no way for either of us to pick it up without making it random. Did I completely screw it up?

  1. Just be direct if you want to see them again. Say you had a great time the other night and ask if you can see them again instead of hoping the situation somehow comes up inadvertently
