I mean i understand why; everyone wants their baby or dog to be called cute, but man does it get annoying! The other day, my coworker showed me her dog, no offense but it was one of the ugliest dogs i’ve ever seen. I love dogs btw, no hate to them, but an ugly dog is an ugly dog. I added babies in the title because newborns are usually ugly as well, it’s a given. And people like to show off their newborns as well. Anyway, of course i forced out an ‘Awww!’ when the dog was showed to me. What else can one say? “Wow, what a nice dog!”? I just wish there was another good hearted phrase we could say, so we don’t just have to straight up lie!! Rant over lol.

That’s the main job of babies and dogs, to look cute
I say “hes so ugly! I love it” in a humored tone with ugly animals. I’m telling the truth and the human is appeased. With babies; newborns I say “that’s a fresh baby!” (It sounds a lot less weird when I say it because of my personality lol) Otherwise I just say “Awe. Baby.”
So simple, yet so effective. Ugly babies do exist in this world. And I refuse to lie to their baby faces by calling them cute.
