  1. I would maybe look for some people who were saving Jews/Poles from German death camps during II WW.

There’s not one clear thing, but shout out to Alexei Ananenko, Valeri Bespalov, and Boris Baranov walking into certain death (or so they thought) to drain a water tank from under the Chernobyl exploded reactor before it could melt through to the water, causing another explosion that would’ve poisoned most of eastern Europe.

  3. Witold Pilecki went into concentration camp of his own free will and then gave a lot of info what happens there (nearly everyone knew but people outside poland didn’t belived that nazis are doing that bad things).
